Rest Not.

Proverbs 3:5-6 reads “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and do not rest on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.”

This is one of the most straightforward versus in the Bible, BUT it is also one of the most difficult “commandments” that we face. There are three statements here that seem to trip us up.

Trust in the Lord with all you heart. It is a very clear statement…positive in nature…yet we have difficulty accomplishing the directive. Many times, we trust in the Lord…UNLESS. What I mean by this is that we Trust in the Lord…Unless I have to rely on my own strength…my own wisdom…my own experience…ultimately…my own understanding. One major purpose of this weblog is to discuss how we can ALWAYS trust in the Lord with ALL of our heart NO MATTER the circumstance.

Rest not (or Lean Not depending on your translation) on your own understanding. Basically, this simply means that we are not supposed to put our own judgement, or our own wisdom ahead of the judgement and wisdom of God. Yet, we do it on a regular basis. The second purpose of this weblog will be to use confessions and real examples of this to help others get through their own trials.

In all your ways acknowledge Him. The final part of the proverbs this site focusses on is equally as difficult to adhere to. The verse does not say…in SOME of your ways…it states in ALL of your ways.

The prize for successfully accomplishing the three directives of these verses is immeasurable in value. God says, do all three of these things and He will personally guide your path. Can you think of anything more wonderful in life than to have the God of the Universe directing you through life like a powerful lighthouse guiding a ship through turbulant waters?

I allowed success to get into my head that i forgot to ask for wisdom when dealing with christians.

Only upon failure did reality hit me.

But it shall be the last.
