Chalets.

Some things are best kept as memories.

Hey, remember this? It's 2D1's very first chalet! Everybody looked so different then. The change in hairstyles is probably the most prominent one. I clearly recalled that it was quite an exquisite experience, generally one of the better chalets that i've been to; if the second one was even considered one. It was my first chalet too. Miss Charlene Seah was also there with us! It wans't very well planned, not filled with a plethora of activities, but at that time everything was simple and we all had fun Dozen of thanks and hugs to Miss Seah for concocting such an ingenius plan to bond the class; and it was a major success. I'm not sure about you but everything was a maiden experience for me then. These memories are definitely priceless.

2D1 unites again in 2007! Like what they say, absence do make the heart grow fonder. We definitely enjoyed each other's company more than before. Afterall, there was still this tinge of 2D1ness in us all. Everything was the same, only that it was more fun filled and we really got closer; though some of the unfortunate few of us were left out. Moreover, i took on a more active role in issues and affairs pertaining to 2D1. I was the chalet coordinator for the 2D1 chalet'07, and i'm proud of it. Though i may not be very much appreciated. But we did have a lot of fun and it very much made up for it. We had an array of really crazy games such as mass waterbombs, beach games, hours long bbqing, night movies and non-stop 'truth or dare' before some of us finally hit the hay. There was definitely some of us -sixus which comprises of Zhen Ning, Jie Run, Nicholas, Grace, Qin Xin and myself - who stayed all the way up till nine the next morning. Cool stuff huh. I remembered how close we were then; with Jie Run and all albeit a barrier called "We're streamed into different classes". Sweet~ (and we took lots of photographs) Sweet~~

2008 marked the beginning of some strange happenings. This was the first chalet that 4D1 had as a class; not all turned up though. Certainly, we bonded quite a lot during this chalet. ( And i got very judgemental of the people around me but i later grew out of it and regretted severely.)
Anyway, i was part of the organisng committee which comprised of six people. We had water bombs and all. The usual stuff. Miss Tan Wen Yi and Miss Tnee joined us! The BBQ was okay, and i thank See Yuan for being very cooperative. (really). From this chalet alone, unfortunately, i could see that 2D1 is something very precious to me. Very important too. This chalet was weird.
Somehow, it felt different. It was not 2D1. and i realised i didn't quite like this feeling of change. I had fun no doubt. But the way things were being carried out, wasn't quite as smooth as planned. Is this because it's not 2D1? Maybe? Ha, doesn't matter; or so i thought then. I could always return to 2D1 this year right? Nothing is impossible after O levels after all.

Dismay? Perhaps. By the time i turned my eyes back onto 2D1, maybe it's a little too late, probably it's my fault for being judgemental, possibly, it no longer is. i look around, and the word change is slammed, pasted hard onto every single soul that is so feebly tied onto a well imaginated ginormous '2D1' signboard. And that is why the chalets this time would be different. It's no longer the same old 2D1. It's gone. Lost in time.
I've lost both now.
And along with them my fervour too.
And, i don't want to take any chances. I don't want to let my impression of 2D1 to be ruined. The last one was the best, and the next might not be. After all, some things are best kept as memories.
Sorry guys.
PS: Don't worry guys, there's still chalet for 2D1 even if i'm not organising. I got ya huan and wei yang to do it this year :) just remember to thank them afterwards :).
