Sometimes, we hear people badmouthing about us, we get upset, but we keep this sorrow, locked up in our hearts. Eventually, we get affected by it. It starts to come out of our mouths and we start to talk to ourselves about it.
The thing is, when thoughts become words, we're actually empowering these thoughts, giving it power. It would then start to take over our thoughts and affect our perception of this person who slighted us.
Problem is, we don't voice out all this. There is a lack of communication.
We would start slandering this person, condemning him or her.
Some of us, we bring people down, to make ourselves feel good.
It's all about relativity. We feel good when we condemn others.
However, this would cause a strife between you and other people.
Sometimes, we get jealous, especially of someone who's always so happy, so successful.
You compare youself with him or her, and get horribly antagonized. You condemn him orher, bring him or her down, to make yourself feel better.
Everyday, when we get up from our bed and after our wash up, the girls would look at the mirror to make sure they look beautiful enough for the day and the guys would make sure that they look cool and dashing enough. Then, we would all just pick up our 'masks', put them on, before leaving the house for work or school.
This mask, is the person we think everyone wants us to be. It speaks of being ostentatious, to impress others. When we fail to become this person, we get real frustrated.
I used to feel very agonised, at why nobody knows what i do. i asked myself, why do everybody think of me as someone who has no initiative etc. I used to feel very agonised when people are oblivious to the things i did for them. I tried to be this friend of mine but it doesn't work. People just don't recognize what i do for them. It's true that nobody knows, but God knows.
Most of the time, we handle things wrongly.
We harm others by betraying them, by using words to criticise them.
All these, no more.
The only solution is love.
Love comes in and fixes everything.
We've got to allow love to replace this frustration.
For it is written in Psalm 139:14
"I praise you because i am fearfully and
wonderfully made;"
We don't have to be the person we think everybody wants us to be.
We just have to be ourselves.
The Lord loves you the way He created you, and uses you the way He created you.
We should bring life with our tongues, and not death.
For it is written in Ephesians 4:29
"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful in building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen"
We have to be careful with what comes out of our mouths.
Badmouthing and discouraging someone is so easy because everybody's doing it, yet encouraging someone and bringing words of life is so difficult.
However, fellow saints, let us be the light of this world, let us be the difference, and love the people around us all the same.
It is only when we become love itself that we would start to shine in this world.
Remember, we're born as neither losers nor winners, but choosers.
We cannot decide on how we start, but we can choose how we want to end.
